Engraving Details

All personalised prices include an area for your inscription, we don't charge by the letter or word.

HOW MUCH SPACE HAVE I GOT TO USE?
Each piece of glassware in our ranges has a set area for engraving included in the price. Unless you tell us otherwise we will resize your inscription to fit (see below "WHAT IF I NEED MORE SPACE FOR MY INSCRIPTION?").

WHAT IS A BLOCK OR BAND?
A block area is suitable for several lines or more of text or drawings, hand and footprints.
A band is where a single line of words wraps all the way around a piece, starting and finishing at the same point.

DOES IT MATTER WHAT TYPE OF PEN I USE FOR HANDWRITTEN OR DRAWN INSCRIPTIONS?
Yes - for the best result complete in black ink that gives a solid black line on white paper - we recommend using an ink, felt tip or gel roller ball style pen.
For children's drawings we can accept coloured pictures, so long as the colour is bright (such as red, blue, green, brown, orange, purple, black) and gives a good contrast (yellow, light pink, pale blue etc are not good).
Please note we cannot accept handwritten inscriptions in biro.

HOW CAN I TAKE FOOTPRINTS OF MY BABY?
There are a number of ways to take hand and footprints, including:

one of our inkpads kits (ideal for newborn and older babies) - available for £5.00
a black washable inkpad (like the one's used for rubber stamping)
child friendly paint, such as black poster colour paint (messy but fun)

All will give a good print onto standard white paper or card and wash of easily. Call us if you need further guidance.

WHAT IF I NEED MORE SPACE FOR MY INSCRIPTION?
On most items it is possbile to have more space for your inscription, should you need it. For example if you would like to have an additional area of inscription for a dedication or message on the back or base of a piece. We charge the following rates:
Up to 5 x 7.5 cm (2 x 3")         £25.00
Up to 7.5 x 11 cm (3 x 4.5")    £39.00
Up to 11 x 15 cm (4.5 x 6")     £49.00
Up to 15 x 22 cm (6 x 9")        £79.00

DOES BELLPIGEON CHARGE FOR ARTWORK?
On the whole we try to include everything in the personalised price. However, in some circumstances we may need to charge for processing artwork. We wil contact you with a quotation, if this should be the case, before processing your order. Our artwork charges are £15.00 per 15 minutes.
